Drop-off and Collection

At the beginning and end of the academy day, parents are encouraged into the playground. This helps to build up a close relationship between home and the academy – we want to have good links with all parents.

Children must not be left in the playground unsupervised. If normal arrangements have to be altered (eg. you are delayed or another person is collecting your child), please let the class teacher know or call the academy office on 01922 721323.  This avoids any confusion or upset.

Health & Safety

At Reedswood E-ACT Primary Academy we have a proactive approach to health & safety. This is not intended as a barrier to the learning process, but to enable us to learn in a safe environment.

Adults in School

The safety and well-being of our pupils and staff at Reedswood E-ACT Primary Academy is important and we want every child and staff member to feel safe in their learning and working environment.

We have very robust safeguarding procedures in place and do not allow any visitor to wander freely around the academy, unless accompanied by an up to date DBS and photo ID.

All the adults who work within our academy have to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and will not be allowed to work with children until this is complete.

All our staff receives Safeguarding training on a regular basis and we have designated Safeguarding Officers and a Safeguarding Lead.

Visitors & Volunteers

We ask all our visitors and volunteers to sign in with the office, where we have a secure sign in process, Photo ID will be requested; they will receive a badge which must be worn at all times whilst they are in academy.

First Aid

All our support staff within the academy are paediatric first aider trained. We also have some members staff with the higher qualification.

Your child will bring home a letter should they have a bump or graze.

On the unlikely event of a more serious accident, the appropriate medical care would be called and you would be contacted immediately to inform you of the incident.

Emergency closures

We will endeavour to keep our school open at all times, however there are occasions that we cannot predict e.g. Weather and equipment breakdown. If there are any such occasions we keep our families informed by text message, school website and the local radio stations.

Parents are urged to keep us informed of any changes to their phone numbers.
